The short version
AI StatusBar uses your information to provide your account, synchronize AI-provider usage, draw your dashboards and send alerts you enable. We do not sell personal information, use it for cross-app advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies to AI StatusBar (the app may also appear under the App Store display name “AI Subscription & API”), aistatusbar.com, api.aistatusbar.com, support and beta requests, and related services operated by DW Technology LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). DW Technology LLC is responsible for the information described here.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your email address, an optional display name, an internal user ID and authentication information. Passwords are stored as one-way password hashes, not as readable passwords.
Provider credentials and content you supply
If you connect an AI provider, you may supply an API key, OAuth or session token, cookie, authentication JSON, Google service-account JSON, project IDs or similar connection information. These credentials are sent to our backend over HTTPS and stored encrypted so provider usage can continue to synchronize while the app is closed.
There are two important exceptions: Claude and ChatGPT/Codex sessions created through the in-app web login keep their cookies in the iOS WebKit storage on your device; only usage results read from those sessions are sent to our backend. Web import flows for providers such as DeepSeek, Mistral and xAI may send the resulting token or cookie to our backend, where it is stored encrypted like other provider credentials. We do not read or store the password you type into a provider's own login page.
AI usage and app-functionality data
We collect information needed to provide dashboards, synchronization and alerts, including provider and model identifiers, token and request counts, costs and currency, balances, subscription limits and reset windows, project or workspace identifiers, sync status, provider health information, and alert settings. This information is linked to your AI StatusBar account.
Device and notification information
If you allow notifications, we receive an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token and its environment. We use it only to deliver the alerts and service updates you enable. The app stores its sign-in token in the iOS Keychain and limited preferences, such as settings and refresh state, in local device storage.
Website, beta and support information
If you join the beta or contact support, we collect the information you submit, such as your name (if provided), email address, tools you use, support category and message. We use it to provide the requested invitation or support.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- create, authenticate and secure your account;
- connect to providers you choose and synchronize their usage information;
- show usage, costs, limits, provider health and news in the app;
- evaluate thresholds and send optional push alerts;
- maintain, troubleshoot and protect the app, API and website;
- respond to support requests and send requested beta invitations; and
- comply with applicable law and enforce our rights.
We do not use provider credentials to make AI-generation requests on your behalf. They are used to retrieve the account, usage, billing, balance or subscription information you request.
4. When information is shared
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. The app does not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
Information may be disclosed only as needed:
- AI providers you connect. Our service sends the applicable credential and request to providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or xAI to retrieve your usage. Those providers process requests under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Infrastructure and delivery services. Hosting, database, network, email and Apple push-notification services process limited information to operate the service. They may use information only to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or secure the service.
- Business transfer. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or notice of materially different terms.
5. Storage and security
Data may be processed where we and our service providers operate. We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Provider credentials are transmitted over HTTPS and encrypted at rest on our backend; API responses expose only limited credential metadata such as the last four characters. The app sign-in token is stored in the iOS Keychain.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for limiting provider credentials to the permissions needed for usage monitoring and for revoking a credential at the provider if you believe it has been exposed.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain active-account data while your account is open and as needed to provide the service. Provider data may cover different time windows depending on what each provider makes available.
When you delete your account in the app, active sessions are revoked and stored provider credentials and push tokens are removed immediately. Your account is deactivated and its email is replaced with a non-personal deletion marker, so the account cannot be restored and the same email can be used for a new account. Remaining usage history associated with the deactivated internal record is retained for no more than 30 days and is then permanently deleted. We may retain narrowly limited records longer only when required by law, security or fraud-prevention needs.
Support and beta correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the request and ordinary business records.
7. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.
- Delete the account in Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Remove an individual provider credential from that provider's settings.
- Erase in-app browser cookies and site data in Settings → Privacy → Clear Web Sessions.
- Change alert settings in the app or disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- Request access, correction or other assistance by emailing requests@aistatusbar.com.
See User Privacy Choices for step-by-step instructions.
8. Children
AI StatusBar is a developer and productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the service changes. We will post the updated version here and change the “last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
